PVC Film for Thermoformed Door Panels: Buyer Questions
When a project uses a profiled or thermoformed door panel, do not assume that every PVC decorative film is suitable for the same substrate or production line. Use this checklist to prepare a product enquiry and a controlled sample evaluation.
Describe the finished component
Tell the supplier which door or panel component will be covered, the substrate and profile, the intended room or application, and the required surface appearance. Share a drawing or sample if the profile or edge details affect material selection.
Confirm the complete process
Ask the supplier to confirm whether the specific film grade is intended for the proposed forming process and substrate. Review the adhesive, equipment, heating and vacuum or pressure conditions with the production team. Settings depend on the selected materials and machine; this guide does not prescribe universal process values.
Agree on a sample and acceptance checks
Before a production order, agree how the sample will be evaluated, including appearance, coverage around the profile, adhesion and any project-specific requirements. Record the film grade, design, batch and process used for the approved sample.
Ask TLBS for current grade-specific documentation and availability. Also review the PVC decorative film range and PVC membrane film references; their gallery labels alone do not confirm process compatibility.
